Alvin Chau Cheok-wa, the head of Macau’s biggest Indian Casino junket operator, has been arrested with 10 other people.The arrests on November 28, 2021, were reportedly over their involvement in an illegal gambling platform outside the city and for encouraging mainland Chinese to bet online. Chinese prosecutors have indicated that they are targeting online casinos after a growing number of operators started using internet platforms to get around the mainland’s gambling laws.
